Internal Family Systems (IFS)

About IFS

What is Internal Family Systems Therapy, exactly?

Have you ever had an internal conflict in which part of you felt one way while another part of you felt completely different?  Trying to figure out which part to listen to may feel like you’re playing tug of war, and you are the ropes.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a form of individual therapy in which you get to know all the different parts of yourself.

In IFS, we learn how to identify, hear, and validate each of our parts.  By attending to our parts, we learn how to become more intentional instead of just reacting to whatever we experience.  Through IFS, we might discover exiled parts that have been ignored or suppressed for years.

While not formally trained in IFS, Jeremy has spent significant time learning and informing himself about the principles of IFS and incorporating IFS and parts work into different elements of therapy.  Jeremy is in the process of applying for formal training in IFS and hopes to start this journey of training in 2025.
